Hello, I’m Gill

Love brought me from Northumberland to East Clare in 2000.  My husband is a Galway man, and we settled down in the village of Feakle to raise our family.

What I love in life is embracing my creativity.  I like nothing more than a walk in nature – the beautiful bogland or forestry trails nearby and then sitting down and writing a poem or a short story.

I love movement and dance.  I love the simple pleasures of a good cup of coffee and a slice of homemade cake!

Listen, and you will realize that we are made not from cells or from atoms.  We are made from stories.”

WHAT IS AN

INDEPENDENT CELEBRANT?

As an Independent Celebrant I have the freedom to create a Ceremony founded on your values, beliefs, and way of being.  We are not limited by the boundaries of a faith-based approach, nor are we confined to venues or places that have to be registered for legal requirements (as is the case for the legal element of a marriage).

For all of life’s milestones – births, marriages and deaths, there is a requirement by law to register the event.  All the information you need about how to register a birth, death or marriage can be found HERE

I do not carry out the administrative registration of a birth, a death, or a marriage.

What I offer is the opportunity to bring Ceremony, celebration and meaning to those milestone events.  I offer Naming Ceremonies, Wedding Ceremonies and Celebration of Life Ceremonies.

WANT AN EXTRA DUST OF SPARKLE…?

I have a talent, it’s a beautiful thing,

It’s not that everyone listens

when I start to sing.

No, it’s a talent I have

to say things in rhyme,

To capture a moment and

help it to shine.

I grew up listening to nursery rhymes and it is as though rhyming couplets are in my bones.  For many years I have written rhyming stories to perform at retirements and other celebrations.  I can create part of your Ceremony as a poem that is printed as a little book, including photographs of your choice.  A bespoke gift, and truly original memento of your special day.
